Pedal Pub, Calgary’s 15-person “pedal-powered-patios”, are designed to bring riders together for a fun, interactive experience highlighting local must-see attractions while enjoying local craft brews on board.

THE CHALLENGE

We love supporting local businesses with a true entrepreneurial spirit. That’s why we dove in head-first to support Pedal Pub’s super-successful launch in the Calgary market. The launch campaign was so successful, Pedal Pub engaged us again soon after to announce some industry-first news. The start-up worked closely with the AGLC to amend outdated liquor laws and were the first “pedal-powered patio” in Canada to be allowed to serve alcohol in public.

OUR STRATEGY

We knew this was a moment that needed to be seen to be appreciated, so we worked with Pedal Pub Calgary to host an event where media could see first-hand why this announcement matters. We also deployed a press release to key media and invited them to experience the exhilarating feeling of drinking a beer while pedaling through the streets of Calgary. And it worked! Not only did major broadcasting outlets and journalists cover the story, they had fun doing it.

THE RESULTS

Pedal Pub made the front page of the Calgary Herald, was featured by Daily Hive Calgary and Curiocity Calgary, had live on-air segments with City TV/Breakfast Television, Global Calgary, and News Talk 770, while also earning national coverage on CBC and several other publications.
